Hi everyone, this is finally the last week of my first English class at Kaplan University and I am very excited. The ten weeks in my first term has flew by fast.
The advice I would give someone writing a research paper would be to start your research early; I would say start as soon as you find out you have a research paper due at the end of the class. I think well I know for I fact I need to work on my research skill a little more for future classes I may come across in the future. I really enjoyed this class it helped me out on a lot of things and forced me to focus and go in depth using writing techniques and research. I wish everyone the best in this class and good luck!!!

9thWeek

How do I feel about my research paper? I feel good about writing my paper at this point the only thing I need to focus on is writing a little more so my paper can be longer. I always have the prolem of making my paper stretch more. I can admit I'm nervous of the outcome of my paper; I hope that I do well on it because it has been a long time since I actually sat down and wrote on and reasearched a topic. I would love to research more topics I am actually looking into pyloric stenosis; that's a condition my younger son had.

Plagiarism

I think plagiarism is not a good thing. I think it is very important for someone to cite work that is not their own; I do not think it is wise to take credit for another person's work (whether the work is good or bad). On some websites I have never really look at the small print but I am sure it has something to do with their legal rights. I just do not know why someone will plagiarize at all that is not right; I do not respect anyone who does this because you do not know the trouble the person went through to write their paper.

Week8

The process of blogging has went well; I have not had any problems with it at all. I feel if someone wants to leave feedback to a post they will, I think it is just a do or don't when it comes to leaving feedback. I will continue to blog even after this course because it helps me express my views through my blog. I can always go back and read my blog and see how I felt on that particular day about a situation.

7th week of school

This is my seventh week in my English class at Kaplan University and I am doing well. How do I feel about peer reviews??? I feel real good about peer reviews because this is a very good way to get some feedback on my draft. I think peer reviews are a good way to get your errors corrected. I think the professor did good by allowing us (the students) to review each other's work. I have been very successful in researching for my paper. The topic of my research paper is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in Children. I've found some very useful information on my topic as well as my own encounters with this disorder; I suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder as a young child. I can not wait to turn in my draft to my peers so I can get others feedback on my work and give my own constructive feedback as well.

Last 6 weeks

What have I been personally dealing with for the last six weeks?
-Well for the last six weeks I have been hard at work, literally, with family, work and school. I am currently taking three classes at Kaplan University and I have learned to really get down on school work. I took on these three classes as a challenge and so far I am doing well with them. I plan to take on three more classes for the next term as well.
-I am going to write about obsessive compulsive disorder in children for the research paper in my English class. Why I choose this topic? I chose this topic because I can relate real well with OCD; as a child growing up I suffered from OCD and I know this disorder like the back of my hand-lol-
I just hope that my research paper comes out good and I make at least an A or B on it because I have been putting in hard work on this paper so far.

School has influenced me a lot over the years; at one point I sat out of school for some years to concentrate on working. On the other hand, I knew deep down inside that it would be a great advantage to me if I was to graduate from college. I decided to return to college online because it was so much better for me to complete my studies online and it helped me balance my job and the role of being a mommy. Kaplan Unversity was my school of choice and so far I know I have made the right decision to return back to school after theses years; my two boys are my top priority and my main reason for wanting to graduate. I have always felt that if I graduate from college this would enable me to get a better job which would equal better pay.

Online student

I am very excited about being an online student; just being a student period. I am very proud of myself because I have chose to return to school after a couple of years; I thought it would be hard to adjust to the online environment but to me it is better. I like the flexibility of the classes. Kaplan University is a great school and I would recommend it to my friends and family; Kaplan has many great resources like the one on one chat (which I haven't tried yet). My ideas about being part of a larger writing community.............It is something different for me I have never had a blog for a English class but I think it is a great way to get feedback from your peers!!!
